Description

Safe Seal IQ is a high-quality, strong windscreen adhesive based on MS polymer, specially developed for the fast and primerless gluing of windows in the mobility sector, where a processing time of ± 15 minutes is desirable. Safe Seal IQ does not contain isocyanates nor solvents.

Due to its unique composition Safe Seal IQ offers perfect adhesion to old windscreen adhesive, lacquered metal, polyester, glass and ceramic edges, without using a primer and/or activator.

These properties ensure that no other extra products are necessary when using Safe Seal IQ to fit windscreens in cars, trucks, bus, trains, trams and boats. The chances of making a mistake when fitting are also highly reduced. Therefore, the product simplifies the formerly complex process of fitting these windscreens.
Safe Seal IQ is also free of solvents and isocyanates and does not contain silicones either. Due to its unique composition the product is perfectly UV resistant, so it is extremely well suited to applications in which the adhesive edge is exposed to sunlight.

A very big advantage of the product is that it has an extremely high initial tack and this has a positive effect in that the windscreen does not subside, certainly if it has to be placed vertically. In addition, Safe Seal IQ has the very positive property of having high constancy, meaning that the bead of adhesive does not collapse during processing. When hard, Safe Seal IQ contributes to the rigidity of the bodywork. Therefore, the product also gives the vehicle very good torsion rigidity.

Safe Seal IQ has been certified by TÜV Rheinland after having successfully passed a crash test according to FMVSS 212: only 30 minutes after the windscreen was glued, the test car smashed into a concrete wall at more than 48 km/h, but the bonding remained 100% intact and all safety systems like airbags and seat belt retractors continued to work optimally. This proves that Safe Seal IQ contributes to maximum vehicle safety as intended by the designer upon car development.

Due to its base of MS polymers Safe Seal IQ has a long pot life after opening, so opened packs no longer need to be discarded. The product is also very easy to remove from the hands.

The handy foil packs make Safe Seal IQ very economical and easy to use.

Windscreens glued with Safe Seal IQ can be cleaned and degreased using Seal and Bond Remover or Multisol.

Instructions for use

  • Surface preparation: The surface must be clean, dry and free of grease. Cut away the old adhesive layer up to a thickness of ± 2 mm. Clean the edge of the windscreen with Innotec Multisol or Innotec Seal and Bond Remover, wipe off well with a clean, dry cloth and leave to evaporate for 10 minutes. Even if there are no remains of old adhesive in the rebate, clean with Innotec Multisol or Innotec Seal and Bond Remover, wipe off well with a clean, dry cloth and leave to evaporate for 10 minutes. In case of paint damage, insulate with Glass - Body Primer.
  • Application method: Apply Safe Seal in a V shape (8*12) directly from the foil pack using a glue gun (Multi Gun 600 or Air Sealant Applicator 600). Mount the windscreen within 15 minutes and press lightly.
